So, Why the need for a countdown?

There's this notion of "Christmas Creep" that some call 'exploitative', but I frankly welcome. I'm Jake Parrillo, the founder of the CILTCM Project, and I've written about the Christmas Creep phenomenon on my blog over the years. I'm totally fine with Christmas stuff (decorations, etc) to be in stores well before Halloween, but I do draw the line on music. I've long said that "Thanksgiving needs a new PR person" because the moment that we close the door on the final trick-or-treater on Halloween night, our house turns our attention to the holidays. And by holidays, I mean Christmas. And that means that the Christmas movies come out. The Christmas playlists get dusted off on Google Music. But, let's not abuse this stuff. Wait for it. Like civilized people do.
